Sharron Angle believes incest is God’s plan

During a radio interview, the Republican candidate for Senate Sharron Angle was asked about viewpoint on abortion. As a Republican and also Pro-Life candidate her opinion on abortion is very clear.

The contestant for the senate seat of Majority Leader Harry Reid in Nevada basically said that abortions should not be allowed under any circumstances – including rape and incest. This is nothing out of the ordinary, still the way she explains it is striking. But read it yourself.

Manders: Is there any reason at all for an abortion?
Angle: Not in my book.
Manders: So, in other words, rape and incest would not be something?
Angle: You know, I’m a Christian and I believe that God has a plan and a purpose for each one of our lives and that he can intercede in all kinds of situations and we need to have a little faith in many things.

At first sight she opposes abortion, even in the case of incest or rape. That raises the question, what happened to the Republican principle of small government?
Why can no Republican, except those with libertarian-leaning, stay out of the people’s lives?
In terms of the battle against Harry Reid, Angle might estrange female voters with her comments. Whereas it certainly attracts religious conservative voters, it also scares away more moderate ones.

But aside from Angle’s extreme attitude towards abortion, those viewpoints also lead to a disturbing assumption about her view of incest.
If she really believes that God has a plan and intercedes when necessary, she also implies that incest and rape are part of this plan and therefore must not be interfered, with under any circumstances, just like a pregnancy.

I do not say, that she actually tolerates incest, but the way she justifies her opinion of abortion allows similar justification of rape.

Incest is wrong, murder is wrong, does the end justify the means?
As an adopted child rumored to have been given away due to mental health issues due to rape to a family of incest and child abuse. I say if I had never been born I would never have to choose anything because I would not be here. The right to choose is always up to the parent in that patricular situation and what that individual can accept as justice.
