Rand Paul starts flip-flopping before even getting elected

Republican candidate for the Kentucky Senate seat, Rand Paul, who stands for limited government and a change in Washington, starts to back down on his campaign promises.
Back in the primary campaign, Paul decided not to endorse Mitch McConnell for Senate Minority leader, before he knows of any opponents. This seems to have changed now.

McConnell supported Trey Grayson for Senate, who ran against Paul in the primary season, but lost. Before the election, Paul stated, that he might not support McConnell for another term, which is likely to be related to the lack of support. Many tea partiers obviously welcomed this decision, because this would be another step towards getting rid of the party structures and bring actual change to Washington.

Yet Rand Paul changed his mind on that matter. Last week he said that he would definitely vote for McConnell, if he were elected in November. That’s quite the change from being a Libertarian, supported by the tea party, to someone who supports the establishment, no matter what.
His campaign obviously realized, that they will need McConnell’s and his friends’ support to win in November. Without their support he might lose votes of the GOP base.

That’s why the people in Kentucky should think twice before voting for Paul, because if he starts to support the establishment now, on which issue will he flip-flop next?

He never said he WOULDN’T endorse McConnell, in fact he said he didn’t know why he wouldn’t but he wouldn’t commit. That hasn’t changed, it is just, by now, even more unlikely anyone else but McConnell will even be making a play for the position.

    That’s what I wrote.
But saying he might vote for another candidate, which he clearly used for political gain, be it support from this prospective candidate or voters who were displeased with McConnell, yet once this stops being important to him he fully supports McConnell, which promises to be more profitable at that point, is not how a politician should act.
