The iPad is a great device for gathering and consuming information. As the number of released apps is very low, in contrary to the iPhone, I will take a look at the first five must-have political apps in this article.
This does not include news apps, but I’ll cover those in a later article.
I already reviewed this app here and most of it is still viable, yet I have to say that there is a constant flow of information coming, so this app is defiantly worth a try if you are a Democrat or want to keep up with their politics.
This app has mostly the same design as the first one, besides some differences in color. Content wise it is copying the official Organizing for America blog and it supports no way to communicated with like-minded people. I am really curious when the Republicans will release an app like that, hopefully with more features.
This is a very important app, there is not much information there, but the quality is amazing. I personally believe that every American should have the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution within reach, this app comes just great. It not only shows the Declaration itself, but also the signers, notes and a copy of the original document.
As I said above I regard the Constitution as essential, which makes this app very helpful. It features the Constitutional articles, the signers, the Bill of Rights and every other amendment. It also includes notes and all proposed amendments. Just as the Declaration app, this one works great and very fast.
5. MyCongress
The best political app I have seen yet is MyCongress. It gives information about every Senator and Representative, includes links to their websites and contact information, it furthermore embeds their Youtube channels, Twitter feeds and even recent news so that you can keep up to date with your Congressmen. The best feature is by far the implementation of Open Congress, which publishes their legislative records.
